2015 MISS EARTH® PAGEANT
Vienna, Austria - December 5, 2015 – In front of a worldwide audience, Angelia Gabrena Ong from the Philippines was crowned Miss Earth 2015 at Marx Halle. Her elemental court includes Dayanna Grageda from Australia as Miss Earth-Air 2015, Brittany Payne from the USA as Miss Earth-Water 2015 and Thiessa Sickert from Brazil as Miss Earth-Fire 2015. Leading up to the pageant, the delegates were hosted in various locations in Austria. The 15TH Annual MISS EARTH® Pageant was broadcast on PULS 4 in Austria and internationally on ABS-CBN, Star World, The Filipino Channel and other participating networks worldwide with live streaming on Hey Yu Media and Rappler.
Miss Philippines-Earth, Angelia Gabrena Ong is the 3rd young woman to take home the Miss Earth crown from the Philippines. Born in Iloilo City, located in the Visayas, the 25 year old is a graduate of Marketing Management from De La Salle - College of St. Benilde in Manila. While as a student, she does part time consultancy work at Manila City Hall and at a marketing firm. Angelia has a brother and they both raised by their single mom.
Joey Mead and Oli Pettigrew joined forces to host this year’s show for the first time as co-hosts. Mead is a television personality, fashion lifestyle host, runway coach and mentor/co-judge on popular reality show, Asia's Next Top Model Cycles 2 and 3. Pettigrew is a Hong Kong-born British actor, model, and award winning television host, based in the USA. He is best known for hosting Cash Cab Asia, Sony Style, Lonely Planet Six Degrees China and Epad on Max in Asia, as well as being the newest member of the cast of the nationally syndicated US show Right This Minute. Miss Earth-Air 2013, Katia Wagner, took viewers a closer look at this year's pageant engaging with audience, fans and former Miss Earth titleholders and contestants throughout the telecast.
The evening’s musical performers included: Austrian solo artist Eric Papilaya who sang his latest single "Her I Am”, available now on iTunes, after the swimsuit competition; and multi talented Czech artist M!SHA performed her song “You Can't Bring Me Down" right before the announcement of the results.
The judges who sealed the fate of this year’s winner included: Eva Krsak, German model and designer for Just Eve; Norbert Blecha, Austrian actor and producer known for Extreme Ops (2002), Metamorphosis (2007) and Eye of the Widow (1991) and K2 (2015); Dick Gomer, Former Country Director of the United Nations Industrial .Dev't Organization and owner of Global Worth Engineering; Yasmin Hirth, Executive Media and Marketing Director of FashionTV; Catharina Svenson Brink, Miss Earth 2001 and lawyer; Markus Hussler, General Manager of The Hilton Waterfront Hotel; Nadja Ondruskova, Independent TV producer, owner and CEO of Bogus TV; Lorraine Schuck - EVP of Carousel Productions; and as Chairperson Board of Judges is Diana Alano Oyugi, President of the United Nations Women's Guild.
Throughout the MISS EARTH Pageant, delegates representing 86 countries and territories competed on beauty, personality and knowledge about environmental issues. The telecast concluded with Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell from the Philippines crowning her successor.

A special panel of judges from the United Nations Women's Guild reviewed all the eco videos of the delegates featuring the environmental concerns facing their respective countries and the efforts they are doing to address these problems. Their votes along with fans on social media determined the winner.

This award reflects the best plan of action aim at helping address various environmental issues. The delegates had a chance to have their version of a Global Summit during the Environmental Symposium hosted by the Vienna International Center Club Filipino. The delegates were grouped together by continent and each group made a presentation about the effects of climate change and develop ways to lessen its effect in their region.

A special set of judges saw the 86 delegates walk in their swimsuit of their choice and select who they think exemplifies confidence and personality.

This award reflects the respect and admiration of the delegate’s peers who voted for her as the most congenial, charismatic and inspirational participant. They each received Gold medals.
