relating this to Ph, when in 1973, Evangeline Pascual refused to perform the duties offered to her, Ph never won.
2013 is different because Megan Young was Liliana's only choice for the crown and Julia cannot defy.

Miss World NEVER offered the crown to Evangeline Pascual nor offered her to perform the duties of Miss World. That was all in Evangeline's crazy head.

I CAN'T THINK OF A MISS GERMANY WHO I'D SAY STOOD OUT OR WAS MISSED WHEN THEY CLAPPED SINCE 1980. GABRIELLA BRUM WAS THE LAST REAL CONTENDER FROM GERMANY BEFORE THEY BECAME THIS PROGRESSIVE COUNTRY THAT DIDN'T CARE ABOUT BEAUTY PAGEANTS ANYMORE.

Since the Top 25 finish at Miss World 2010 there were no German beauties have every place with the eventual withdrawal from the competition in 2019.

Possible reason but other European countries have more placements than Germany since 1981.
1st 30 editions where Germany placed 16 times but after Gabriela's resignation, Germany only placed once in 2010.

HOW COULD THAT BE SEEN AS JULIA TAKING THINGS PERSONAL? SHE DIDN'T BECOME THE BOSS NOR CHIEF JUDGE UNTIL 2001.

EVANGELINE PASCUAL DID SAY HER DECISION NOT TO TAKE THE TITLE WAS PERSONAL BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO WIN IN THE FIRST PLACE AND HER FATHER ADVISED HER NOT TO TAKE ON THE DUTIES AND STAY HOME.

She must have assumed that being the first princess meant she'd be in the line of succession should the reigning Miss World not complete her reign, but during those years there was no such clause. Marjorie Wallace was the first Miss World to be dethroned so it's safe to say prior to that the organization had no plan b.

Not until the following year that MWO started to promote the 1st Runner Up to Miss World titleholder if the titleholder resigned or dethroned. They learned their lesson from this experience.

False. And Evangeline Pascual never publicly spoke up about it and made any claims, so it couldn’t have been “all in her crazy head."
Jon A wrote:I don't think anyone in Germany would have blamed the Morley's! It was after all, Gabriella's decision to step down. If anything MWO handled it all gracefully and never commented in a disparaging way on her behavior in public or made the switch hard.
As for Germany and your original question - I don't think MWO holds grudges against individual girls based on an organization. Germany just started to unravel in general in pageants, a lot of Euorpean countries did in the. 80s. And their decline was not just at MW, but also at Miss Universe. Ok, they placed 81-84, but since 1984, they have only placed TWICE - once in 1989 (also a long time ago, almost concurrent with 80) and once in the 2000s with Natasha Borger, who was basically a Miss Venezuela.
I think really the point is that German candidates entered into a spiral of poor preparation and poor results and worse and worse candidates. Not a single girl coming for pageants in Germany recently is of the caliber of girls we know Germany can produce.
