My point here is that MUPh was NOT SMART enough to make a good calculated judgment way back in March or May or June and should have instead just appointed a representative. They should have taken the SAFER and SURER ROUTE by not holding a national pageant this year. Had they appointed someone way back in April or June, by now that representative is probably already finishing her fittings for the dresses, gowns and national costume.
If the crowning will be in October UNFAIR at KAWAWA naman yung candidate natin na parang TINULAK sa BANGIL, hala sige girl mag compete ka bwahahahaha. Ngayon if the main criteria for selecting the winner in October is based on the OVERALL PACKAGING ang PREPAREDNESS of our representative (kasi nga wala ng time to train further) eh we are just talking about TWO WOMEN here —— LEREN and KATRINA.
Si Steffi walang international exposure yan, mag ala Rabiya 2.0 yan pagdating sa Israel dahil walang experience competing internationally. Kung ganun ang scenario eh pauwiin niyo na the other 25 ladies at wala naman silang mapapala at maaasahan sa scenario ngayon. Magsasayang lang sila ng money, time, effort at resources for nothing. Hindi na patas ang labanan. Mag jack and poy na lang sina Leren at Karina kung ganun. WALANG FORESIGHT KASI ang MUPh organization. PERA LANG ANG INIISIP at KALANDIAN of course!

Steffi: She is beautiful and she has decent communication skills, but more than that, she has a good team behind her, so her team can help her a lot during the preparation should she win. She will not have a problem sourcing outfits knowing that she has a lot of good Cebuano designers supporting her. She can then just concentrate on improving herself.
Katrina: Glamazon! She has everything it takes to win. The downside would be the preparation. I feel like she doesn't have enough resources for the preparation if ever she wins MUPh. Maybe we will see a Rabiya 2.0 campaign for MUPh if ever.
MUPh failed to plan. They should have made plans A to Z knowing that the situation is constantly changing. Why can't they just do it like Bb. Pilipinas? Stage a live pageant without an audience? They did it last year, so why can't they do it this year??????

The situation wrought by the pandemic was completely different in July. Bear in mind that BP, who didn't stage the 2020 edition, also had to postpone the 2021 show.
For MUP, the logistics and commercial aspects of staging their own show might have still been untenable last July. As you correctly stated, they were successful last year, but this year's pandemic is just throwing everyone off their tracks.
I can't imagine the enormous amount of stress these organizers are going through!

When Miss Universe announced Eilat a few months ago, Israel had one of the most controlled COVID-19 situations in the world. In the past week, there's been a dramatic (and scary) increase in Israel's infection rates. I'm sure the pageant groups are all mindful of this.

I understand that the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting everyone, also pageantry. However, in my opinion, the organizers should have a back up plan if they want to push the pageant, knowing that the pandemic is not ending anytime soon. They were able to stage a pageant last year when times were uncertain and I don't see why they can't do it now? Why not repeat what they did last year? The ladies were safe and they were able to stage a decent pageant in my opinion.
My concern is that our representative will not have enough time to prepare. Even Rabiya who had ample time to prepare last year almost fell short of making it to the top 20, and I don't want that to happen again this year.

So many aspects would have affected their decisions: sponsors not committing, sponsors backing out, etc. I won't be surprised if IMG itself is giving a wait-and-see direction to the national groups. The best we can do right now is to continue supporting all these organiziers--clicking their social media accounts (since this also helps in building revenue), and being very visible as fans. This way, the sponsors themselves are given confidence that the pageants are going to be supported by us and be successful.
As for the limited time left, I leave it to the organizers to worry about this. They are professionals and are completely mindful of expectations.
