I never thought Magdelene was stunning I HATED the way she was styled that year. That dress was an orange MESS.
I was not surprised that she did not advance further in the competition BUT.......you have a point about MAGGIE being a pageant veteran.
Still pissed that Cheryl Ankrah's LAZY A$$ was dethroned..............she had soooo much potential and let it go to waste all because she did not want to work on her body and put in the rest of the hard work that's required to be at your best for an international pageant.......especially one that's big as Miss Universe.
Miss USA could have gotten away with being BIG.......by pageant standards but NO WAY in hell could T&T get away with that.Cheryl Ankrah (Miss Universe T&T 2005) DETHRONED

SOOOOOOOOOOO........It AMAZES me how hung up most of y'all are ONLY over Miss Trinidad & Tobago placing that year.
I know there was an.........ONLY 1 (BLACK WOMAN QUOTA) to fill that 1 COVETED spot the top 15
but JEEZEEEE some of you on this forum always went out of your way to to make it so obvious and it's NEVER changed with the mindset that ONLY 1 black woman can or should place at the expense of another
AND YES I am going there with the race talk, which makes many uncomfortable........yeah I'm looking at y'all who'll deflect by saying it's NOT about that.
Hell ANTIGUA & BARBUDA was GORGEOUS and I wished she placed!!!!!!! I always remembered how stunning she was
IMO she was ROBBED and......... yes she is OBVIOUSLY FACIALLY superior to T&T BUT also more beautiful when compared to OTHER CONTESTANTS, who placed in that TOP 15 to, who also had the UPPER HAND with the Sash Factor EFFECT.
So STOP acting as if some of the other girls who placed DID NOT have sash factor advantage on their side to.

Oh hun don't play the race card with me. The only person making anything about race would be you. I mean the ones you point out as being plane janes are Miss USA and South Africa whom are both white? Miss USA did not deserve to be up there as she looked awkward on stage. Miss South Africa however deserved her placement. You might want to go back and research the pageant archives. She was listed as a font runner on many lists.
If I recall there was only one Asian that year too. So does that meant that they had a 1 Asian quota for the year? Don't give me your bull crap about race with T&T. The country was brought up because it is in the Caribbean like Antigua and Barbuda. The Caribbean place should have been reserved for Antigua and Barbuda. And don't even bring up that I forgot to mention Puerto Rico as being in the Caribbean as well. I did not bring them up because their placement is a given.
Next time you want to whine about the race card please have some merit to it. Do not just start babbling at the mouth. Thank you and Bye for now.

I did not mean it as a regional spot. I meant the only Caribbean nation placing back then was T&T. They were a popular sash back then. So, yes sash factor does matter. Don’t debate me on Universe. You will lose.

There should not be any reserve spots so your statement really does not make sense. The sash factor thing is annoying because underserving placements happen constantly and Miss Univers at the time was not regional so not sure why there should only be one spot for the Caribbean.

I remember she was miles ahead of Maggie and I totally agree with you in that top 15 there were many girls that were not facially strong in comparison the Antigua but it's the compare the black girl to the black girl shit. Indonesia was not pretty, nor was usa, didnt care for PR either.

Some of them do this nonsense all the time and it's easy to spot it.........but then they come with the (stop pulling the race card argument) EVERY TIME. And I won't be surprised if MORE jump on the bandwagon with this argument as a DEFENSE.
They also do the COMPARE the (best Asian) to and think everyone will be clueless.........and it's MORE than just a geographically regional comparison, which is one of the MOST common/OLD arguments.
Anway......I liked Puerto Rico WAYYYY more than Canada (beautywise). But Canada's performance was great overall so she deserves credit.
