The only thing is, advocacy should be AD-vuh-huh see, not ad-VOH-kuh-see. Accent on the first syllable. How she says it now is ok, since she's talking to a pinoy audience. But in the international stage, she should say it correctly, especially if she will use the word every two minutes.

So true! She’s the worse version of Patch Magtanong — walang kabuhay-buhay magsalita. At ang dami laging niyang mispronunciations at grammatical issues.

hindi ka kase sanay makinig sa alta -- kaya naiinis kang bakla ka..just so you know, dapat ipaintindi mo sa listener ang sinasabi mo at di linalamun ang words..palibhasa ang maralita kapag nakarinig ng manilis mag english matalino na agad! hahaha boba

I've listened to this interview twice, and I see nothing wrong with how she talks. Obviously, she was not tutored by Boy Abunda or Vice Ganda - your favorite celebrities. So, she does not talk like she just emerged from a two-day public speaking seminar in a beauty parlor.

Tanga! Pakinggan mo ngang magsalita sina Gloria, Subijano, Guada, Pijuan, and Moran. Yan ang mga known na alta. Di tentative magsalita at relaxed sa delivery kasi they can think and speak well. Sya, halos pigilan mo ang whining mo kasi baka magkamali. Daig pa sya ng di alta like Anwen, Wilson, Catriona, Andam, Alagao, Karla Bautista.
Nilalamon nya ang words. Her accent reminds me of her mother. Parang di lumaki sa States. Tamo yong mga Stateside: Ruffa, dimaranan, Dixon, Silang, Florendo, Charlene, Dindi. Very nice to hear them speak. Di pa college graduate ang iba dyan. Unlike her na graduate.

She’s bad, so she’s actually better off sounding like someone else.
The “Be uniquely you” principle applies only if that “you” is good to begin with.

That's your opinion. But opinions are a dime a dozen in this forum. So, it is ok if you hold on to yours.
I've listened to many of Gloria Diaz's interviews. I think she sounds awful, plus her grammar leaves much to be desired. You can tell in 30 seconds that she's a graduate of PWU. But, other people here consider her an intellectual giant.
Margie Moran sounds very reserved. I don't think she can be a spokesperson for anything today.
I don't know about Pijuan because I have not heard her speak at all.
So, sounding "alta" is very relative.
In fact, Michelle does not need to sound "alta". She speaks with substance, and that's what matters.

Not really. As someone’s already pointed out, she’s one big cliche. Nothing new — or necessarily better — to offer pageantry.
