Welcome to Let’s Rate the Girls 2019, where we forumers at Missosology rate each contestant for Miss Universe 2019 with a score from 1 to 10. Smile made this topic last year and I thought it would be fun to do it again this year to help keep the forum more active!

How It Works

- I will post a contestants photo who is currently being rated
- You will have a certain amount of time to score the contestant
- After the voting period is over, I will average the scores and then reveal the contestants average score and then post it to the scoreboard. To keep the process fair, I will omit the highest and the lowest scores that the contestant received UNLESS 20% or more of the scores they receive are their highest or lowest score.
- After the contestants score is posted, the process will repeat with the following contestant

Rules

- Please be civil, drama is inevitable, but last year we did a great job at not starting drama in this topic, each users rating is FINAL, you can post commentary but this is NOT a thread to debate in
- DO NOT post photos of girls, this topic is not their official thread, if you post photos on here your post will be downvoted and reported!
- You can score the girls anywhere from 1-10, you may also use anything between like 8.3, 2.5 and more
- You can only score the contestant currently being rated, once the period is over you will not be able to rate here
- Be objective! In order for this to work, we have to be a little objective, even if you hate a certain forumer or a country, do not automatically give their representative a 1 and your representative a 10. VERY IMPORTANT: ratings that I do not feel are objective will not be counted. I will remain completely unbiased with this and have no interest in taking sides in your fights.
- Do not sabotage: last year there were many alter-nicks created to give contestants bad ratings in order to boost their contestants rating, I will use my judgement/hopefully with the help of moderators to determine who the alternicks are and their scores will not be counted.
- Once your score is approved, you will get a thumbs up from me, that means your vote has been counted.
- Do not score based on what you think will happen, pretend you are a judge at Miss Universe, what would YOU score the girl? This is not a prediction! It will be fun after the telecast to see how our forums favorites align with the judges results!
- Lastly, have fun! This is not the be all end all and remember these scores have no affect on the actual results

Oh she’s fabulous .
I’m liking her as the days go by .
She’s a 9.

I'd like to give her a 9.25 (same I'd give to Hen) and here are my reasons:

- A performer (may I say she's the performer of this year thus far)
- Face: purely eastern, Lucy Liu kind of face that will make her stand out
- Story: nothing short of inspirational
- Advocacies: she has at least 2 on-going community projects going on right now which tie directly to her story
- Styling: one of the best styling team in the pageant world is handling her (Hen's team). She herself is a designer. I have no doubt they'll slay
- Experience: modeling internationally and nationally since 2011, competed and judged in national and international pageants before
- Most time for preparation out of anyone
- Extremely determined and professional
- Oh and she's a glamazon

Her points of improvements are:
- English: not the best but definitely not bad, she can communicate easily. I don't think having perfect English should be the metric anyway
- Political/cultural discussion: no idea how she's doing in this aspect, but I know she's been practicing questions since last year frequently, and most questions surround new issues

9.3 for me. She has a distinct look at this stage which is a good sign that she can stand out side by side with other front runners.

Majority of pageant fans, if not all, love H'Hen Niê so much. She set the bar really high for Vietnam. So, the next Vietnamese representative will have a humongous shoe to fill.

Hoang Thuy, for me is a downgrade from last year but I am not counting her out yet.

Definitely a 9. Her features define a true Asian beauty. An absolute standout amongst the whitewashers. She’s currently in my top 5.

VIETNAM: 8.4

I think this is the highest I can give to her for now. She has a very unique beauty, good height, killer walk and passable English skills ( better than H'hen ) but one thing I think will be her weakness is the personality. No doubt she's a nice and classy lady but she lacks enthusiasm when she talks for short, cold. MUO/IMG likes outgoing ladies with vivacious personalities....I hope she improves on that.

To be honest, i'm still not 100% sold on her. I really think she's a down grade from last year's rep.
But Vietnam has the momentum right now. Plus, I wouldn't mind seeing her in the semifinals so I give her this rating for now.

P.S. I wasn't able to actively participate in last year's thread so I'll try to be diligent in participating this year!

8.5 i love this year's Miss Vietnam. Every year Vietnam is always struggling on stage in catwalk especially that they are performing after Miss Venezuela- the catwalk divas... but this year i don't think Vietnam would be left out after Venezuela's catwalk performance (i'm not sure if that's the right term), I am confident that this year's Miss Vietnam will give us a good show that won't look boring after Venezuela on swimsuit round at the preliminaries. Miss Vietnam Org. did a right decision of appointing her to compete Miss Universe this year to continue Vietnam's momentum which H'nen started.
