I certainly miss sharing my thoughts about the Miss USA and other major pageants here in the forum. And I know that I have quite a few followers who look after my verdicts, but sadly, I didn't make a single one in 2018 due to work and other factors.
But well, here I am! I am back! Hopefully, I can stir a little bit of interest towards the Miss USA pageant as this year turns out to be the least followed edition ever in the history of Missosology.

I don't think that justifications are necessary when it comes to the IMG era of Miss USA. Based on previous years, the winners are solely based on personality and things that we barely see during the prelims. Preliminary walk and performance "normally" don't matter. So, our job as missosologist/pageant analysts is to research about the delegates and see if they can give IMG something new into the table?
Virginia's Courtney Lynne Smits is my Miss USA 2019 simply because she has the charisma that I felt while she's on stage and also on social media. Being an army reservist may not be something new for Miss USA, as we had Deshauna as a winner back in 2016 who was also an army reserve. But as for Courtney, I would love to see a Miss USA who is taller than the current Miss Universe and Miss Teen USA... Someone who won't drown when they get introduced together in the public. Someone who is stunning. Eye-catching. But also, still has the story to tell! Courtney is the kind of Miss USA who can bring back the glamour that Miss USA used to be known for. Those piercing eyes!!! Oh wow!!! The endless legs!!! SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERVE!!! That's what the next Miss USA be! A queen that needs no further justification! So, I just hope and pray that she will nail the final Q&A as it seems to be the only determining factor in choosing the winner.
For my first runner-up, I have New Mexico. She is very attractive, so there's no need to say that over and over again. I like the fact that she is an accounting buff, as I was an accounting major myself (minus the board exam, which I didn't take because I flew to Japan right after college)... She is indeed beauty and brains! Hope she changes her final gown! I can see her as a winner too!
For second runner-up, I can see Maryland taking it, although I won't have any problem if she wins it all. I have to say that Maryland has the best body among all the contestants, so she will definitely go far! Between the two yellow gowns (New Mexico and Maryland) though, I prefer hers to stay and not to be changed.
For my Top 5, I have Oklahoma, who is the strongest among the black beauties, as well as Florida, who might just be the lone blonde survivor leading to the Top 5. But who knows! It could be Connecticut (#7), whom I am keeping an eye on, as I find her more charismatic than Florida.
New Jersey is an alternate of mine for a Top5 spot. She's in No.6. I like her look. She is exotic and appealing. Connecticut, like I said above, is very charismatic and I like her positive vibe. Illinois is another tall delegate whom I feel will go further to the next round. She has a friendly smile and looks prettier up close. Arizona has a great body so I felt like she would move further to the Top 10. Is it just me, but she seems to look like Miss Teen Alabama who ended up as 4th RU in Miss Teen USA a few days earlier. Meanwhile, South Dakota completes my Top 10. If she turns her hair blonde, I would have mistaken her for Olivia Jordan!
Texas is in 11th spot for me. I guess the pressure of being Miss Texas still lives on despite the unfavorable results they've been achieving under IMG. Georgia got a good start leading to the competition, but she did not look natural on stage. West Virginia looks a bit stiff although her pretty face cannot be ignored. Minnesota is the "Face of the Pageant" and is my sentimental favorite. I hope she changes her gown because it's the only reason why I feel she might miss the cut. And rounding up my top 15 is New Hampshire, who is really beautiful and her hair is just perfect! Love it!
