If I am asked who are the best Miss Earth winners in its 19 year history, I would not hesitate to name Angelia Gabrena Ong and Tereza Fajksova.

I have always respected and admired Angelia Gabrena Ong from the start of her competing in Miss Philippines Earth to her international competition in Vienna, she has handled the pressures of the crown with grace and sensibility. She has always been very diplomatic and professional in her public statements towards issues whether it be about her chances of a back-to-back win, her thoughts on the Hitler-Duterte comment of her successor, or even issues that could make or break a beauty pageant winner’s career. There is class and elan in the way she carries herself that is rare among pageant girls which couldn’t be found in most winners. Her’s was a very productive year as well having publicize a number of her advocacy public appearances as well as travels to almost a dozen countries promoting the Miss Earth pageant.

Tereza on the other hand has been the most visible and well traveled among its titleholders. She has traveled to 12 countries during her reign: Mauritius, Cote d’Ivoire, Reunion Island, Finland, Ghana, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, South Sudan, Austria, Egypt, Philippines and Kosovo. Tereza also cemented the ME as an BIG 5 Pageant during her year lifting the ME brand in her international travels. Her self-admission that she did not understand the question during the final Q&A and gave a reply with the most sincere of responses showed how truly amazing this woman is. To this day, when asked who among the ME winners is the most memorable, majority of fans would respond Tereza. A testament to her reign as one of it’s most beautiful winners.

Both of these girls were epitomes of what a Miss Earth winner should be: gracious, classy, smart/intelligent, sincere and down-to-earth. I am just hoping that future winners would look up to these ladies as a perfect role-model for the title.

My Top 5 would be :

1. Angelia Ong - ME2015 from the Philippines- To me, she is a classic example of the mark of true queen type. (don't want to elaborate more, basta yun.)

2.Priscilla Meirelles - ME2004 from Brazil - When she competed, you could tell she would win. She slew all the way to the top. It was really hers from the start.

3.Tereza Fajksova - ME2012 from the Czech Republic - Simply a Goddess-like Beauty and humble.

4. Alyz Henrich - ME2013 from Venezuela - A powerful GLAMAZON. Expect that from a Miss Venezuela.

5.Phuong Khanh Nguyen - ME2018 from Vietnam - In my opinion, she is the breath of fresh air among the titleholders. She has that sweet, serene and youthfully cute aura.

My Honorable Mentions:

1. Jaime Herrell - ME2014 from the Philippines - very pretty and "materiales fuertes" type. She's the Photogenic/Telegenic awardee among the 4 Pinay ME winners, in my opinion.

2. Nicole Faria - ME2010 from India - Brainy and witty. As they would say on the finals, don't let a Miss India hold a microphone, if you don't want them to win or even place high.

3. Alexandra Braun - ME2005 from Venezuela - Stellar performance. She was in it to win it. That started the longest streak of Venezuela in ME.

4. Olga Alava - ME2011 from Ecuador - A pleasant victory. Right from that catchy Opening Number, I noticed her right away. She was my favorite to win.

5.Winfred Omakwe - ME2002 from Kenya - She was actually the replacement of the one who won the title ( which she was so undeserving). She may not have declared the winner that night, but she gained the hearts of many.

Nice choice, Angelia and Tereza overall. But for public speaking and intelligence, Karen and Katherine for me. I love really intelligent queens, they are pleasing to my eyes and ears. That is also why in Miss Universe it is only Catriona, Sushnita and in lesser degree Gloria that I really adore. I dont know other queens or have not really followed them.
