i agree, she's not that bad, but is she that good to win? that is the question...

i agree, she's not that bad, but is she that good to win? that is the question...I understand that Carousel should send a caliber for the crown every year but we must also consider that we can't win every year. A Top 16 or Elemental Runner Up crown is good as well

I am not disputing your opinion, but can you honestly say that in the past two years that has been the case?

The only problem in MPE 2011 was that the elimination was just a big mess, preventing the true stunners to covet the crown (example is Miss Loay - Renee Hassani)

there will always be stunners, so your defense for psyche is weak. of course other countries will send their best. as for your justification for MPE2011 about the messed up elimination, that is precisely my point. why have that format when they know well that the ME format is not like that?

There were still many front runners who were left out in the Top 16 that time. And Psyche's inclusion at the Top 5 of Miss Ao Dai was a big achievement!

you are now being illogical. now you agree that there will always be stunners so why use that as a defense? DUH.
I have nothing against Psyche. Congrats on her achievements and all, but in reality she was unplaced. As you said, Athena is not that bad and yet you dispute her winning by saying a more deserving girl should have won if not for the messed up elimination round - so what is your point?
My point has been very clear from the thread I posted, I just don't get yours. You contradict yourself.

I'd say the Philippines should be a powerhouse in Miss Earth as we are the home and country where Miss Earth originates and is organized. We should liken this to Miss USA who shares the same owners with the Miss Universe and Miss UK (England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales) with Miss World, and Miss Japan/China with Miss International. These national pageants do well in their same company-owned international pageants not because they share the same owners but technically because these national pageants share the same criteria with their international counterparts.
My point is, MPE should be sending strong candidates in ME for the fact that MPE knows what ME is supposedly looking for. Politics is not an issue if the MPE representative is really deserving to win right? Should MPE sacrifice winning an ME title and merely play host and organizers to please other national directors? ME is not created by Carousel so that Philippines will have its own titleholder, MPE should wake up and send really deserving, stunning, title-worthy representatives. I have nothing againsts Athena, but she doesn't stand out amidst the Amazons in this year's ME.

EVEN BEATING VENEZUELA? I SEE, YOU WANT PHILIPPINES TO BE NUMBER ONE IN THE PAGEANT THAT
ORIGINATED IN THE PHILIPPINES. NOTHING WRONG, IT'S PERFECTLY LOGICAL TO ME.

We can NEVER be a powerhouse in Miss Earth...
as long as PAGEANT contestants here don't care about this pageant. Their ultimate goal here is Binibini (For Miss Universe and MI) , now there's MW. Sometimes ME is just a stepping stone. MEP is just a catch basin. sANDRA and Karla as we know are BP "rejects". Ladies who feel that they won't do good or feels need more honing join MEP before BP.
... as long as people here don't care about the pageant... When Karla Henry won-- where's the major endorsement? Lukewarm reaction of people here. ABS-CBN -- does not even broadcast it LIVE on Free TV -- which is a gauge of how important an event.

Carousel deliberately crowned a so-so girls since 2010 so that they have a reason not to include Philippines in the semi-finals of Miss Earth. This is so because they were afraid that many countries will boycott their pageant if Philippines places again. Carousel gave in to the demands of the other countries and sacrificing the glory and pride of the Filipinos. If they continue doing this, the beautiful girls of the Philippines will never be interested joining the local pageant again.
It would be a gain for the Miss Earth but a big loss for the Miss Philippines-Earth.
Well, that's what Carousel wants...MPE & ME are not that popular yet to the common people.
Even ABS-CBN does not promote it the same way as Miss Universe ahahaha.
ABS-CBN is the media partner of ME but it will not even telecast it live. But if it's Miss Universe, they will kill every rival station to telecast Miss Universe live.
Sometimes it also made me think that ABS is just riding on the popularity of Miss Universe because it is very popular to the Filipinos in all ages and all walks of life.
