MI 19 POST-PAGEANT thoughts

I had been through a lot while covering the Miss International 2019. First, I knew that it isn't good to read comments online because some fans were so harsh. Some fans posted ruthless comments how we covered the pageant. First, I fell 3 steps from a Traditional Japanese house into the garden in Niigata and my knee has been swelling until now. I persevered because I wanted to give you guys a good coverage.

Some of the comments I read were:

'''What an ineffective photographer!''
''Where is Ms. .....? I think this page hates (country name).''
'Who manages this page?''

Like you guys, I love pageants and I have been covering Miss International since 2013.

Second, I lost my job while covering this year's pageant. Despite knowing I would not get anything from covering this pageant, I stopped worrying about my life here in Japan. Because I want to promote the brand of Ms. International and help the girls promote themselves and make their experience in Japan better. I want my pictures to be their treasure. A memory they will keep forever.

Let us move onto the main topic.

Regarding THAILAND's WIN, everyone backstage were crying and satisfied with the results especially the chaperones. Some girls even said that '' I was not happy not entering top 15 but when Thailand won, I have forgotten everything ''. She is a sweetheart, even the whole African delegates were rooting for her. That's how they love Thailand. She is a sincere lady and probably that is what the judges saw in her. Did you see how the other girls reacted after she was crowned on stage? That would explain everything.

DRAWBACK OF SOCIAL MEDIA. Some of the girls did not focus on communicating with other candidates. Instead they were too busy talking to their fans and posting on SNS.

Regarding PHILIPPINES and INDONESIA's translator. I do not have good Japanese ability but based on my own understanding the translator did not do a great job compared with the other two translators during the coronation. But then again, if the crown is yours, it will be yours.

Regarding the PREDICTION LIST and the actual top15 RESULT. It will remain a mystery on how they select these girls. It is a combination of everything, that is what we know. Somehow we knew some things, but not all. One things I can say is, everything is FAIR.

Most of the girls were very professional this year, even after they announced the top 15. Some of the girls cried backstage because of TEARS OF JOY because they entered the top 15. The other girls went up on stage even though they were not part of top 15. Good job ladies!

Overall, for me, this year's result was amazing! I have never seen such winner well-loved by her co-candidates. I wish the fans would promote peace too and I hope we will appreciate all the ladies without bashing them. Some of them told me that they went to Miss International using their own money and without sponsors but they were just happy to be up on stage. So let us be nice to them.

That's all guys! If I forgot to mention anything here. Let me know by posting your questions down below and I will try to answer your questions. See yah!

Kenji, we all know that we cant please everybody. There will always be dissent. Many were surprised about Thailand, they were never in their radar, not in most predictions. Even I think her performance was not topnotch. Though, when all TOP8 were standing side by side she was a stand out. Her speech though basic was good I like it but it cant be denied that Philippines gave a very solid speech. I had goosebumps upon watching her delivery. She deserves at least a TOP5 finish however, it seems that TOP5 was chosen by continents?

It is safe to say that MIO is not ready to give the crown to the Philippines this year. Patch did good but her best wasn't enough to sway the judges to another Philippine win. There's always next year to look forward to.

WHY DID YOU TAKE THE RISK OF LOSING YOUR JOB FOR COVERING THE PAGEANT? :| :| :|

It’s safe to say that people were happy with Miss Thailand’s win — she seemed to be very sweet and humble!

Let’s not pretend that she was expected to win, though. She was no standout and NOBODY had her on top of any prediction or favorites list; she wasn’t even listed on most of them.

I wasn’t a fan of Patch Magtanong for this pageant — I never looked at her as the MI prototype and I knew that her ‘brains’ would be wasted (another Binibini would have fit the bill perfectly for this competition). But she stepped up big-time and was the prettiest among the four Asian ladies left on the stage during the final announcement. The competition would definitely have been fairer if they had a competent translator do the job for both her and Indonesia (poor front-runner Indonesia!). But it is what it is.

PS: Thanks for the coverage. I hope your swelling subsides. Do take care of yourself!

Thank you for the coverage. Miss Vietnam stopped at top 8 because of her weak speaking skill but i feel very honored already. Miss International was, is and will always be one of the Trinity in the pageant world along with Miss Universe and Miss World.

Without saying it directly, we knew what you were driving at. You are so predictable as always! Let me serve this reminder: Only time will tell. When the time comes, reality will jolt you up!

Who is? Did it ever occur to you that you could have been set up? Or, was that exactly in your thought that you took the bait hook, line and sinker?

Honestly if you're triggered by this post, there's something wrong with you @-) I hate this bitch as much as anybody else, but Miss Universe MW MI is the undeniable trinity, and YOU know it.

Go outside and get some fresh air, Jesus.

On topic: thanks for the coverage kenji. Thanks for the effort and the work and the sacrifice you put into it.

I think there would have been more happiness in UGANDA and throughout AFRICA than in THAILAND and throughout ASIA if Miss UGANDA had deservedly won the crown of Miss International 2019.

AFRICA needs that incentive much more than the rest of the continents of the world in this difficult time of migration from the black continent to the whole world between many other problems.

Miss THAILAND in her speech to the public, she became the victim with a drama that very skillfully manipulated the jury. Sweetness and humility are not enough to win a crown. There are many other beautiful, smart, sweet and humble candidates who were not called even in the top 15.

If among the policies of the Miss International Pageant is helping societies in some way around our planet, when they need it most, this opportunity was one of the best to be supportive of AFRICA. No black contestant has won the Miss International crown since the first time in 1960. Has racism existed in the history of Miss International?

I really believe that the vast majority of the fans of this pageant wanted MISS UGANDA to be the winner.

DEFINITELY A 'GRANDER' INTERNATIONAL PAGEANT. MUCH BETTER THAN THE OTHER INTERNATIONAL PAGEANT IN VENEZUELA

Read between the lines. I'm not in the business of comparing or pitting one pageant against each other. I find that too pedestrian for my taste. If only for the entertainment value each of these pageants provides, I adore all the 3 older pageants for what they are, entertainment at no cost to our own pocket. Notwithstanding the time when Ms. Intenational was rumored to close shop until a new organization took over the helm.

I was testing the waters. And true to form and substance, the unmitigated piece of scum took the bait. Now, who do you think was triggered?

You were literally thinking that i was trying to shade Miss Earth. And when people called you out, you tried to justify by saying you were just baiting me. Baiting me for whatttt? I’m not gonna lie. I had no intention to shade Miss Earth in this thread and i even did not think of Miss Earth while typing my first post here. FYI, Miss Earth is not at the level where I have to use the Trinity to shade it. If i want to shade Miss Earth, i only need to use fourth tier pageants such as MS, MGI or even Miss Eco :)>-

Thanks a lot Kenji!

I’ve known you in Misso since you were still a baby studying in FEU (if my memory serves me right)!

I would wait everyday for your photos to repost them in the official thread.
Thanks for adding the water mark, coz I feel lazy adding CTTO every time hahaha!

M

And to Nguynguy, go and savor your bitterness and trolling in your favorite pageant MGI (which is as obscure as you)!

Playing victim again Nguyen? Hold your horses! Nowhere in my replies did I mention Ms Earth. Let this be clear with you as you were blinded with hate. Did I deny the trinity of older pageants to the contrary? No, I did not! That was clear as crystal.

"Was, is, and will always be"? -- that is a contentious statement and remains debatable. Your brain cells elude you this time! Why? Because an untimely demise could happen even to the older pageant as Ms I. Or Ms U. Ms I almost disappeared 2x from the face of pageantry (for lack of sponsors) before the bleeding pageant was rescued and taken over by MIO Japan from its home base in Long Beach, CA. It has had a fledgling start and almost came to a halt while under Japanese ownership, Because of a dearth in big league sponsors, a beauty pageant organization may close shop if it ends up losing. It could even happen to Ms U. Hello IMG! So, do not talk about permanency in the triad if you don't know stuff. "Was, is, and will always be"? Wasn't that shading enough couched in a subtle spin? There goes your golden parachute.

Think again! Your defense is not anchored in safer harbors Nguyen. You are stressing the obvious and your slips are showing. The chutzpah failed you big time, bozzo!
