Mr Ireland Wayne Walsh blasts double standards after claiming that female fans ripped his clothes off in night club

Mr Ireland told yesterday how he was mauled by female fans and had to be rescued by bouncers.

Wayne Walsh revealed the incident in a nightclub was “the most uncomfortable few minutes of my life”.

And he said if the same thing had happened to a Miss Ireland model “there would have been a court case”.

The 27-year-old, a finalist in Mr World in the Philippines tonight, added: “Women are always talking about equality this and equality that [but] I was at an event in a dancehall full of women.

“I was walking through and two bouncers had to come and rescue me.

Image

'The women had taken my blazer off and were trying to take off my buttons.

“If that had happened to Miss Ireland in a pub full of men, there would have been a court case.

“Because I’m a man they thought, ‘Sure he only loved it’.

“They were middle-aged women who I don’t know, it was the most uncomfortable few minutes of my life. There’s so much equality when it comes to so many things but when it comes to male models there’s no equality, we’re seen as eye candy.”

The personal trainer, who is in the final 12 out of 70 contestants after winning the extreme sports challenge, said the competition was sexist against men.

He added: “There’s a swimwear section, at the end of the day the caption they use here is it’s Mr World, the world’s most desirable man. But there’s a small bit of
inconsistency there, we can’t have 30 women in bikinis for Miss World but we can have the lads up there in their swimwear.

“To me I don’t see a whole lot wrong with it, when you post topless pictures, it just comes with the industry.

“There’s a bit of a disparity there, the one thing I will say is that for young women they’re a lot more self-conscious.

“A lot of guys who go in for these pageants they’re in the gym seven days a week, here at Mr World the guys are only dying to get their tops off to show off their physiques.

“There’s the macho side to the men doing it.”

Well, I am glad he didn't win. If not because of the fast track event, I don't think he will make the cut.

Why is Mr Ireland in a male personality contest that he considers sexist? Doesn't he know what goes on in a male personality and beauty search? I can bet he's social media savvy and knows the ramifications of a male pageant, or is he playing victim via the innocent card?

But his contentions were valid. How come Julia Morley scrapped the swimsuit competition in Miss World while have it at Mr. World pageant?

Doesn't make sense of his contentions. They were dissed after the fact. While contemplating to join (for sure it was not a spur-of-the-moment decision for him) he must know what's he's going into, no doubt about that. Mr Ireland wasn't born yesterday so to speak. The industry where he revolves his life with is rife not only with rumors but with hard facts staring into his own eyes!

Alleged male victim should be heard like other female victims. People should stop labeling him with names until we have valid proofs. :)>-

Am trying to understand your reasoning, he describes his alleged attackers as middle aged women, and then it happened in the Philippines... so he was trying to imply that middle aged Filipino women are desperate and sex crazed. Right?

A corrupt pageant as described by some people just happened in the Philippines n embraced by World Philippines Organization. Does it mean that Philippines is corrupt as a whole (Mr World owned by alleged corrupt Mrs Morley happened in your backyard )? Answer is big No. :)>- :)>- :)>- he was talking about his alleged attackers not middle aged Filipino women in general... :!!

Reality check: He is only 27 yo and achieved something u will never achieved in your lifetime .... :)>- =;)) He represented his country which u will never will. Am pretty sure ur face n body do not even measure to his. It’s easy to judge someone if ur face n body is not even posted. If it’s true, I wonder why women tried to undress him. I also wonder why he won Mr Ireland 2019 n represented his country and someone represented your country instead of u! :%))

some of you here are beyond delusional....Mr. Ireland got point here...as a delegate he came to the Philippines to chase his dream and what he went through is not acceptable AT ALL... whether is the truth or not I am not sure but never jump into conclusion of 'he is not good looking" bla bla...go get yourself an education.

I totally agree with you on this. Mr. Ireland has a totally valid point.

I shall side with him on this aspect.

Disgusting women, if his claims are true.
It’s possible because night clubs are usually hang-outs of bad-behaving girls anywhere in the world.

If it happened in your country Thailand, he would have been sexually assaulted by you and your fellow ladyboys.

Or worse, Dumb NowWhat and his fellow old gay-grandpas will take advantage of him.

I don't understand why he has to drag Julia Morley when he was assaulted (yes that is the correct word) in Ireland and he wasn't under the watch of Julia nor the Mister World's Org; unfortunaly he seems to be lashing out (which is very common in victims of assault) and to be honest I get it. Sexist culture has allowed for men to be ignored in their claims or made fun of, just like somehow it is weak for them to be affeminate or show emotions. Assault has nothing to do with clothes or looks, perverted people will pervert because it is simply about perversion and power. His claims should have been followed through and those women should been at least arrested.

Then again the reality is that so very few assault cases (with both female and male victims) actually get taking seriously, rape culture is real and the fight against it is precisely so both men and women can have a better quality of life.

Now onto his claims, the reality is that each pageant has a specific and clear set of rules and format; you choose where do you want to participate... the want that matches you and your expectations. Miss World and Mister World are two diferrent pageant, they don't necessarily have to have the same format or even the same prizes ect. If he consider's the pageant sexist perhaps he should have chosen a diferrent pageant. If it's so sexist to him then I don't understand why he would participate in them.

Fake news! He didn't say that about the pageant, he was asked to talk about an experience some time ago. His experience being mauled by women in a night club had nothing to do with the Mister World pageant.
