Did BGYO Steal The Thunder From MUP Candidates

Postby Prozac » Thu Sep 23, 2021 2:57 pm

Did BGYO steal the thunder from Miss Universe Philippines Candidates in their National Costume Fashion show?
Or is this some promotional gimmick concocted by ABS CBN and MUP to drumbeat the song Kulay, sort of like
hitting two birds in one stone?

Well, MUP Director for Communications Voltaire Tayag has a ready answer.

"For the National Costume presentation, we wanted a fresher and a younger vibe by doing a fashion music video.
We featured the modernized forms of the Manila Carnival Queen theme that all the ladies are required to have.
Having a mix of old traditions presented in a new way makes for a more interesting experience. It's well lit and
you can appreciate the costumes in totality and in close-up shots of the details. You can watch it repeatedly like
a music fashion video."

BGYO definitely brought color to this otherwise flashy and kaleidoscopic fashion show with their soon-to-be hit “KULAY”.

The soundtrack was well-suited and tailor-made for the event giving our new generation of music a chance to be introduced
to pageant fanatics. On the other hand, I'm not really sure if the exposure of each costume is enough to give justice to the
labyrinthine and intricate designs of these natcos, It looked like the six-minute video was too short to showcase 28 beautiful
costumes.

In my opinion, the group has nothing to do with that mess. Any ways, it's their show, they can do whatever they want. Yung boyband, guest lang naman so hindi nila fault yun. =b

I like how MUPh do it. Very classy and not overdoing it like Bb. Pilipinas. Just an opinion. Smooth, sleek, simple but elegant. I think they should increase the tickets to a higher amount :=p :=p :=p :=p
If everyone can be a beauty queen, what is hardwork?
Maybe there is no hardwork, only surgeries ?

I was planning to do that, but my friend called me as his grandma was rushed to the hospital, and by the time
I came back to correct it, there were post replies already and it's too late. But just to let you know that I caught
that error on time, look at my first statement quoted by you above and it says, "Did BGYO steal the thunder from
Miss Universe Philippines Candidates in their National Costume Fashion show?"

But thanks for reminding me. I STAND CORRECTED! AND I MADE THE CHANGES IN THE THREAD TITLE as you suggested.
