The results this year left a bad taste in my mouth coz I have such high expectations for MSAO for they never get it wrong with their queens. I realized though, this is a year that the sole decision came from the judges and MSAO has nothing to do with it. Shudu is okay but I can't help to think some other girls like Jordan, Karishma, Aphelele and Melissa deserves better.

Now that they have the authority to recommend a pageant to the Top 3, I KNOW FOR SURE they pushed Natasha for Miss Universe! So obvious since its quite odd for a 2nd ru to be sent to Miss Universe but they pushed it anyway. This is such a smart move. MSAO knows how to play in Miss Universe so damn well. I expect another Top 5

Natasha would have been the perfect Miss South Africa winner if the judging was based on what Miss Universe is looking for. But MSAO also has other things to be considered domestically, so Shudu was the chosen winner based on the system that they implemented. A national queen does not necessarily reflect the mold by the international pageant, so MSAO is really smart enough to decide clearly which girl is more suitable to which pageant right after the coronation. That would free the whole pageant from manipulation just because they would want someone to fit the mold of Miss Universe or MW. This is a great example for other national organizations to follow!

Shudu is a locked top 5 in MW and she'll possibly win. Girl speaks like a politician.
Thato grew over me since the final night. She is such an authentic soul and I feel she will do good in SA first year sending their girl to Supra.
Natasha is a very strong contender. The coronation night during Miss SA was not her best night, but she can change her destiny in Miss Universe! The only thing that may works against her is recent strong SA performance and her aura is very Demi-Leigh, nevertheless, solid!

I honestly don't see her as that big a threat.

I still think Shudu is the best of the three and I would have preferred to see her defend the Miss Universe title. I think Natasha could have won Miss Supranational.

My Top 5 for Miss Universe is still:

Canada - IMG all over.
Chile - My sentimental favourite.
India - I think she has a very good chance of winning.
Romania - Proven success story.
Thailand - She is so inarticulate that she will waste this spot.

Kidding aside, I think in person, her face shouldn’t be that fat (or not even fat at all). There are are exercises on the face to trim down the cheeks

I actually like how Miss South Africa assigns title like this. Sometimes the judges do not know what to look for in a certain pageant. The criteria for judging Miss SA is so different from the international criteria. So I support this one. Their rep to Miss Universe is the right choice.

I hope other organizations with multiple titles at hand shall follow SA.

While I applaud MSAO for doing such a move, however, I am still concerned if this will sit well with MUO considering that South Africa will now only send the 2nd Runner-up to Miss Universe pageant in Vietnam(?) while their main winner goes to Miss World, the longest pageant rival of Miss Universe. The MUO will understand if the national winner and the 1st Runner-up of Miss South Africa were disqualified due to residency, age, pregnancy, and/or other related issues that clearly warrant disqualification from the pageant but for a local organisation to reassign their winners to be fielded for competition in the international arena just for strategical moves, then this might bite back their rear really hard in the end.
