Well she is the first Miss Somali UNiverse, so not sure how saying that would be selfish, maybe you should have looked up the meaning of selfish before you used it in your post and with her beauty, she does not need anything to get the crown if she wanted to.

I just think her story is annoying as shit and she's annoying as hell. She joined Miss Minnesota because she felt, in her own words, "her kind" wasn't represented. She gets to the semis and gets signed by IMG. GREAT! Congrats to her. Then this year, she decided that because she wasn't comfortable with the clothes they were having her wear, she "quits" runway modeling. Girl, it's because you can't get a job that'll only allow you to model or photograph the clothes you wanna wear. Get over yourself Halima Aden!! You've got to be the stupidest and most entitled little girl in the world by inserting yourself in the fashion industry, first and foremost, knowing you have to show skin and hair to be successful. Not saying she can't be a model or a pageant queen - she and all her fans just can't expect her to win it all. This whole thing is just dumb.
I have nothing but love for you if you're of a different race or faith but if your faith or any religious code dictates that you have to be covered from head to toe, don't join a swimsuit competition and expect to win by wearing a hijab. If there's a religious code (Quran) that prohibits men from staring at women, why walk on a runway or be a model? If wearing a hijab symbolizes "modesty and morals", why aspire to be a fashion model where you're stared at all day and your photographs are published for all to see? Why insert yourself in an industry where the naked body is celebrated?
She's not challenging the convention - that's her cover up. She's selfishly trying to fulfill something that her creed deeply forbids and the only way she can justify it is the hijab, which to me is disrespectful to Islam and their belief system. If she's gonna do the modeling or the pageant thing, she needs to go all in and not pull the hijab card. Since she has committed to both, she's already broken the sacred laws of their holy book anyway.
Again, my utmost respect to the men and women who follow the sacred book of the Quran because that's their birthright. To Halima, girl, pull yourself together because your act sucks and you're annoying as hell.

This! I agree with what you said. I mean if she needs to make a difference in this world, she doesn't need a Miss Universe crown to do that unless she will join to change the way the pageant should go like removing the swimsuit competition. If she really dreams to have a crown on her head (if that is her ultimate happiness), I think Miss World is the most suitable pageant for her as her participation will probably not cause havoc in her native Somalia.

Do these hypes equate to some sort of apology for Moslem women owing the many restrictions that they are subject to as opposed to the open societies of the west? Let the hype begin.
Its their right if they want to hype her, to each his own.

I'm not taking that away from anyone that includes you if that pleases! Just so you'd know, I've lived and worked in the ME for over 15 years. I should know. Be a fan and ride on the hype! You owe it to your alternicks and minionsI Talk about conversing with each other. I'd rather not say my opinion about your taste. BTW, here in the UK, I've gathered observations about Halima's countrymen in general but I won't satisfy you with what is that all about.Stop spreading fake news, spill the beans
if there is such observations...
