It is not confirmed yet if it is MANDATORY for the franchisee not to hold their respective pageant. What about those who already have selected their representative for 2020 like Indonesia? I guess it's the Philippine's choice if we are going to pursue with our national pageant or adhere to the suggestion of MUO. Should we adhere to the suggestion of MUO then I think Bb.Pilipinas has the right to choose who our representative be. If we STRICTLY FOLLOW the succession rule then Aya is now Supranational and Samantha assumes the first runner-up position.

MUP can not choose our representative bec that succession ruling is based on last year's pageant in other words MUP is still OUT of the picture. In other words we try to "REWIND" or "BACKTRACK" to 2019 when MUP was still not in the pageant scene and Samantha has not resigned yet to join Bb.Pilipinas 2020, NOW THIS IS THE SCENARIO that is taken into consideration. By this scenario, Aya assumes Supranational and Samantha assumes first-runner up position. SO SAMANTHA BERNARDO IS THE RIGHTFUL REPRESENTATIVE for Miss Universe 2020.

But how can BPCI send an appointed rep for Miss Universe 2020 if they no longer hold the Philippine franchise? There will be a lot of legal conflicts should BPCI be the one sending reps for this year's pageant. Unless the MUP Org and BPCI come into terms that for this year Madam SMA will still pay for the franchise fee, I doubt this will happen. And I also doubt that the new Org will allow itself, on supposedly its first year of displaying its excellence in selecting a representative, to be overshadowed by the former franchise owner (BPCI). So I dont think any of the 2019 Bb. Pilipinas queens will be sent to Miss Universe this year since all of them are still in legal contracts with BPCI. It's possible though that we will see any of the Bb. Pilipinas queens from 2018 or earlier editions, and who is an Empire/Mercator talent, to be selected by MUP Org for Miss Universe 2020. Someone like Katarina Rodriguez, for example

This is not true at all.

All that MUO has said (and this is confirmed) is that they will, based on feedback from NDs and considering the worldwide crisis) ALLOW designations at the 2020 contest instead of insisting on a newly crowned national winner. That is all. Who that designation is - an appointee, a RU, a previous winner, a MW co-winner, a girl chosen from an online casting .... is all up to the ND. All they have to do is ensure that the girl meets the standard Miss Universe citizenship, domicile, age and other regular criteria.

People here do not read and understand carefully, this is just an OPTION for countries not holding national pageants due to the pandemic.

Well, she doesn’t have Zozibini’s height, but she’s way prettier.

CLEARLY, MUP IS WITH ANOTHER ORGANIZATION SO SAMANTHA BERNANDO AS A REP IS OBVIOUSLY OUT OF THE QUESTION. Miss Universe GAVE the OPTION TO CONDUCT AN AUDITION WHERE THE ORG CAN CHOOSE OR APPOINT. THE ORG CAN ALSO CONDUCT AN ONLINE CONTEST.
