While I am very optimistic that Mouawad will make a stunning crown (Some of their pieces look STUNNING, plus they have some world records like the world's most expensive bra) I am somewhat tired of Miss Universe always changing their crowns. Don't you think that for being the top beauty pageant in the world you would have a timeless crown that has been used for decades? I guess the closest thing that we are ever going to get to a timeless crown would be the Sarah Coventry crown.

I am also very sad to say goodbye once again to my favorite crown, The Mikimoto crown. F to pay respects.

If I was IMG, I would request a crown that can only be used during the crowning moments and a much less expensive replica version that can be used for photoshoots, events, and as a souvenir for the winner to have and take home. But a replica that actually looks like the crown, not a completely different version (like Mikimoto or The Peace crown)

Other than that, I can't wait to see what the crowns will look like. And even though it is very unlikely it will happen, I wouldn't be surprised if Mouawad decide to go above and beyond and break the world record for the most valuable tiara (which according to Guinness Book of World Records, the record for the world's most valuable tiara is currently held by Versace with an estimated retail value of 5 million dollars)

It was such a timeless crown. If i were them i should have redesign it in such a way that it will fit the new era of the millennium.

I think all of you would agree with me that no one beats the old Miss Universe crown. It was such an ICONIC crown and very Miss Universe, even none pageant aficionados can easily distinguish that she is/was a Miss Universe. I hope one day they will realise that...

Hands off to Miss World and Miss International for keeping the traditions. Although i dont like the way they present their respective pageant, but i commend them for keeping their symbols.

The CROWN is a symbol of HISTORY and LEGACY.

oo iconic yan, di ba laging tabingi ang pagsusuot tapos kumakalas pag nag fi first walk. =D>

for a winner, i think masarap iuwi for souvenir ang crown na pinutong sa yo nung nanalo ka. so kahit rhinestones pa yan iba pa rin value sa nanalo. eh kaya lang ninegosyo ng MUO pati crowns kaya source of income na rin nila ang sponsorship fees they get from crown sponsors.

taling about crowns, naalala ko tuloy ang lumang Bb. Pilipinas crown na nangungutim at bungi2 na bago pinalitan.

business-wise, it is good for MUO because it adds novelty to the pageant. damang drama ng MUO, pati venue pinag uusapan ng sangkabaklaan

Everytime there's a new crown a Latina ends up winning that year.

Mikimoto: Panama
Vietnam Crown: Venezuela
Nexus: Venezuela
Nexus Redesign: Mexico
DIC: Colombia

Will this pattern continue?

NO LONGER TRUE because

In all those years, Donald Trump was the owner along with his business with Latin America’s Telemundo!

Latin America is scheduled to win after 10 years.

I've read here that Mouwad is involved in open-pit mining? Guys that's a very abusive way of mining. It also endangers human and animal lives. No less than the late GIna Lopez campaigned against open-pit mining.

HOPEFULLY THE MOUAWAD CROWN WILL BE THE PERMANENT CROWN FOR MISS UNIVERSE AND NO MORE CHANGES IN THE WME/IMG GROUP (UNLESS THEY SELL THE MISS UNIVERSE AGAIN)

GAME OVER? | When Miss Universe announced it will unveil a new Mouawad jewelry crown starting this year, Miss Universe Inc. the moved fast in organizing a similar event by having it's queen Paweensuda Drouin and the makers of Mouawad Jewelry, grace the Extraordinary Jewels Gala event tonight.

Here is a video of Fahsai Drouin wearing the largest glamorous 68-million-dollar dragon diamond in the world from Mouawad. According to unverified sources in Bangkok, Paweensuda was honored by MUO to be the representative in celebrating the new crown announcement.

Is Fahsai’s involvement here a good sign she will snag her country’s third Miss Universe crown soon?? :-@

At least this designer appears to be legit and high end, but I just wish they would just stick to the Mikimoto. Its iconic and the ultimate symbol of the MUO.

They have no contract with Mikimoto anymore. They will get nothing from it. If you are an astute businessman , you will go for a sponsor that can provide money , replicas, etc. There is no sense for MUO to stick with t
h Miki crown.

As someone mentioned above, DIC supposed to sponsor Miss Universe 2014-2024, it was a 10-year contract, but things went south and Diamond Nexus came in rescue, the first was Miss Teen USA 2016 than Iris's appearance in Indonesia. Btw, Iris barely wore a crown during her reign, neither Catriona did. Demi was the last titleholder who wear crown to every important event.
