In the past if a potential delegate lacked authentic citizenship or residency requirements, you will be disqualified at Miss Universe just like Anjanette Abayari in 1991, Amy Kwok in 1992 and Tisha Silang in 1998.
This year there are several Miss USA state contestants won Miss Universe national pageants in Puerto Rico (Madison), Ireland (Fionnghuala) and US Virgin Islands (Andrea) respectively although these 3 met the residency and citizenship requirements that will qualify to compete at Miss Universe.
But we focus on the newly proclaimed Miss Universe Iran by the name of Sonia Beytoushi. In Sonia's case that Missosology official FB page claimed that she was not a legitimate potential candidate at Miss Universe 2019.
Do you think Sonia is qualified to represent Iran at Miss Universe 2019 if she passed the citizenship and residency requirements stated by MUO unless MUO relax the citizenship and residency requirements again just like the underage issue the last 2 editions?
