Officially confirmed by the MUO. All contestants and staff will be tested before and after arriving in Memphis, and if they test positive they will be isolated or sent home. I will feel extremely bad for any girl who loses her chance to compete by testing positive.
Wow me too, but I don't know what the alternative really is.
Exactly, there's no way around it, that's the way it has to be. Really hoping we don't have to get to that though.
I wonder if they will send 1RUs from state competitions in that event, or if there will just be missing states

I was wondering that too. I also wonder if they'll give any girls sent home an opportunity to be involved in 2021 somehow.
Queen of the Clouds wrote:While I was updating contestant profiles though, a new girl really came into my radar. I don't know how I didn't notice New Hampshire earlier!! She is stunning, and has a real job as a licensed dietician. NH isn't traditionally a powerful state, so I hope she's getting the training she needs, because on paper this girl looks like she could go far. She reminds me of Julia Horta, she has a very Miss Brasil look.

I hope they'd at least let them compete again at state the next year if that happens.
Whether they'd just let them compete at Miss USA 2021 is tricky, since we'll have a new Idaho and Montana 2021 before Miss USA begins, and lots of other states have assigned local titles already.
I think if they get sick before arrivals, they'd probably send the 1st Runner Up like they did for North Carolina a few years ago. If they get sick at the pageant, it will probably be too late.

They said that if a girl tests positive she will be isolated or sent home. Testing positive seems to be a definite "you're not competing" imo, considering the girls are arriving just a couple days before the actual competition, and I doubt they'll become 100% better in 3 days. They may be able to be replaced by their 1RU in their state pageant, but there may not be enough time for that switch if they test positive just after arriving. Hopefully if any girl does test positive (which I hope they won't), they find out before the flight to Memphis so the 1RU can take over easily.
The girls we should be most worried about are the girls from California, Florida, Texas, Illinois, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas, Louisiana, and Alabama, they're being hit the hardest right now. Hopefully they'll all do a quarantine before leaving. I also worry a bit about Idaho and Montana since they're having their 2021 state pageants before leaving for Memphis, but there's about 6 weeks in between so I'm sure it'll be fine.

Total girl-next-door stunner, strong directorship, just graduated from a prestigious university for biochem and is about to start her doctorate at another prestigious university. Olivia's really the total package, it took me a bit to warm up to her (and get over my disappointment that Gina Melchiorri didn't win on her final year of eligibility ) but this girl looks ready to do some serious damage at Miss USA. I could totally see her taking home the crown if I put my biases for my Top 3 aside.

I'm not sure, I hope so though. They made the explicit reference that Miss Teen USA will be streamed live, but they didn't say anything about Miss USA streaming, only the FYI network thing. Prelims I'm sure will be streamed like they always are, but I'm less sure about finals. They did stream live during the last time the show was put on a minor network (Miss USA 2015), so maybe they will, but not sure.

Never heard of it.
itsrowdy801 wrote:What do you guys think of the RPM girls this year?
I keep thinking that, from a purely strategic standpoint, I should include one or two of them on my list. RPM is a massively successful directorship and arguably the best in the country - not only has at least one RPM girl placed in each of the last nine editions of Miss USA, at least one of their girls have placed Top 5 or better in six out of the last seven years.
Don't get me wrong, I like all four of them. But I'm not over the moon for any of them.

Lol well I love Sthephanie too and would love it if she won. Just a little worried that her features are a little too much like Cheslie's and the MUO will want a girl with a different look to win this time. They picked a new MUPR?

Looking forward to the host announcement too! I hope its Nick & Vanessa again, they've been amazing these past couple years.
