Growing up my dad would often say, “Climb a mountain, eat an ice cream.” — A reminder to enjoy the simple things that put a smile on your face especially after a hard week of work. So cheers to having a great week and climbing your own mountain.
Queen Fig spent the day at the Blackrock Market enjoying some yummy Arcticstone Ireland ice cream, face painting and hanging out with the kids. If you visit Arctic Stone be sure to ask for the special Miss Universe Ireland dish! It’s with Prosecco & strawberry’s, our favourite.
Swipe right to see cuteness overload!!
We are over the moon, because this phenomenal woman, Queen Fig, will be a keynote speaker at the main stage for Women in Tech World Series in Dublin, September 12th ! She will discuss everything from her work with Nasa to women in tech breaking glass ceilings, as well as the need for more equality and diversity in the workplace.

Hello Monday! Working hard or hardly working? Actually, there’s been so much to do even on holiday this past week.
One project that is very important to me is NASA’s International #SpaceAppsChallenge which is coming up this October 18-20. Every year, NASA leads an international effort to bring scientists, engineers, storytellers, makers, and creators of ALL backgrounds together from all over the world. The mission? Use NASA’s data and tools to create something to help save the world (no big deal!).
This year, I am a host of #NASASpaceApps and after hearing about the Amazon rain forest on fire this week, I immediately thought of what we could do to help. It’s tragic global issues like this that make this event and Your participation so greatly needed. Last year, we asked participants to help create apps and tools to assist with the record-breaking wildfires that we’ve seen all over the world. Over 200 locations in 75 countries submitted 1,400 solutions.
Everyone is able to create change and coming together for collaborative problem solving is where we start. Swipe right to see images of actively burning fires in South America tracked by NASA satellites. (Credit: NASA Earth Observatory)
Get involved now by registering as a participant or volunteer with SpaceAppsDC. Our goal is to put our heads together to build real world solutions to address real world problems- no matter where you are in the world (even if on vacation!). Link in bio for more info.
Let’s teach our daughters less about fitting into glass slippers and more about breaking glass ceilings.
“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” Spent the day at the RECROWNED Ireland mentorship event to support young women. We talked future goals and how to set milestones to work towards them. Thanks for having me ladies!
To celebrate #InternationalDayofCharity today, our Queen Fig is supporting the Julian Benson CF Foundation today at the 20th Anniversary of Ireland’s International Ladies Polo Day. All in aid of cystic fibrosis.
Queen Fig opened the kick off for the start of Women In Tech worldseries main-stage with her conversation on how to move forward with gender diversity, her journey with NASA and her Space Apps D.C, and of course women shattering glass ceilings and #ReachingForTheStars. She was so happy to have been invited to speak on the main stage about ‘Moving the Conversation on from Gender Diversity.’
Yesterday, was very special because I spent it with the 6th class at Holywell Educate Together National School. They showed me their projects, including a project by Aoibhe on NASA. To prepare, Aoibhe gave me a call last week to talk about my work with @spaceappsdc. It was heartwarming to watch her presentation and see how inspired she was. We talked about our passions, reaching for our dreams, and how we all can create change in the universe. Thanks very much Holywell for letting me pop in!
We are all Wonder Woman ! Bravo to Queen Fig, the host for the Wonder Women in Tech in Los Angeles! Thank you everyone who came out today, it was fantastic seeing new innovation, hearing everyone’s journey, and how we can break gender stereotypes in business. We heard so many fascinating stories from women at Google, Microsoft, Mattel, Bolt_now and so much more in #STEM
Women are not one dimensional, we are smart, beautiful, and strong. We can be all things. Women are breaking glass ceilings in their careers everyday and it’s time to celebrate that and encourage the next generation to continue to push further #ReachForTheStars

I hope she goes to Miss Universe all-out in representing Ireland and the best it has to offer, unlike that carpetbagging Madison Anderson who’s supposedly representing Puerto Rico, but who really only picked PR because she only wants a crown and couldn’t cut it at Miss USA.
