her styling and stage presence in evening gown kill her chance!yes it seems great stage presence but for me it's too fierce the make up too strong,i don't like the thai team tried to make her become this very fiece girl!i really love her in swimsuit!and i think the judges also love her in swimsuit more than in evening gown!she need to give a natural smiling not that fierceness diva attitude! it's not a looks of a winner in IMG era!even trump era i never see that strong make up win the crown!JamesCedricLim wrote:taleyblue wrote:Thailand is Thailand!!wow the gown is amazing!! Paweensuda won't win but she is the Queen diva of the night!the most strogest stage presence of miss Thailand in Miss Universe ever! !!
She did a good performance last night however the competition was really tough to windstand the towering South Africa, Puerto Rico and Mexico, even USA & Colombia who are both Lawyers by profession were eclipsed by these three giants.
It just sad that Thailand had it in the bag eversince she became MUT, but top 5 finished was great. For sure there will be more windows of opportunity that will be open to her in the future. Thailand 2017 and 2019 were both crown worthy. Keep improving who knows maybe in the couple of years you will get your turn.

just @chorr. That hoe always implies that our placements for MUO are purely payments for the 10 year drought lol

BUT.....I dont want to be sound bitter or whatsoever.
What i observed during Catriona's reign was they never really maximize her full potential being a good speaker? Oh yes, she made so many appearances in US programs etc, but thats it. She never had a speaking engagement that made an impact to the universe to say the least. If MUO is really telling us or sending a message that what they need is a good speaker then so be it. But they failed BIG time to Catriona.
There are so many potential speaking engagement in USA that they could have been arrange for Catriona to discuss WOMEN EMPOWERMENT, DREAMS, BULLYING, LABELLING WOMEN, BEING FEMINIST, EDUCATION, CHILDREN, AIDS AWARENESS, ETC ETC.. These could have been most pressing topics discussions. She could have done it in all UNIVERSITIES in the USA or abroad. Just my two cents....
Now that we have Zuzubini who speaks eloquently i hope she will not suffer the same fate as Cat.
the new miss universe will get along of attention from the minorities, she is already surpassed the 1 million mark on IG, she will be booked and busy with projects from people of color. They wasted Cat time for real, she could have done so much for the miss universe but they wasted her
Exactly my point. I hope they will do something else to the new Miss Universe. Catriona also high rocketed her IG even before the Finals night. It started to reach Millions in just a day after her SLOW-Mo Twirl during Prelims. Catrionas reign was not to productive...not enough. But now i am hopeful that she will use this new platform so she could help so many young women children now that she is no longer associated with MUO. She can have so many speaking engagement, charities left and right with no restrictions at all.
Well Good luck to Miss Universe 2019. All the best my dear beauty and of course to Catriona, the world or universe is waiting for you now. there so many things you could do now, spread your wings even more and fly high...
the problem is that pageants are a thing of the past unless it's in Asia. The new miss universe will get attention, from the black community because of her hair and beautiful black girl magic.I am sure Tyler will work with her.Oprah already spoken about her. That black girl magic is in full effect, black women no longer have to wear wigs and weaves or bleach their skins to be considered beautiful, if IMG use the new miss universe the proper way they can earn a lot cash, she made history and there is money to be made from her victory
Brain Beauty wrote:I just watched the youtube video of the coronation night.
I just wonder how MUO recorded all the narration of all the Top 10 finalists about their EG and SS presentation quite specifically? Did they record only ten candidates in advance? If so, then the result was already rigged? Or they did make the similar records for each contestant (for all 90 beauties) before the final night? Please someone check with your country contestant to clarify this?

Definitely the US. We have a very dark history regarding race and people with these beliefs still exist (look at our president and his supporters).

I beg to differ. The US is the hotbed of tolerance, moreso than any part of the world. Let's not paint with broad strokes here - this website alone exemplifies just how far the rest of the world still needs to go. Blaming the president and his supporters, of which I am BTW - will not fit your narrative, no matter how you present it.

Well I definitely beg to differ from what I have witnessed from people around me my entire life. We can agree to disagree.

absolutely! our views are shaped by our experiences, after all!
don't get me wrong - i have experienced these instances, both being a minority and a lot of times the lone female in a male-dominated field. however, i've also been afforded the best of opportunities due to my own merit alone, which speaks volumes IMHO.

Its sad that the bar of tolerance and acceptance is so low that the US has opportunity to say "Well there's worse places". And while you may not be a racist, to say the president has not presented a narrative fulled by prejudice is a bit naive. The president has also failed to condemn the portion of his supporters, which is a big chunk, that engages in racist and xenophobic behavior. The president has perpetrated a campaign of misinformation, shady behavior, fear, discrimnation and prejudice. And he won, that does tell you something about American Society... and he will probably win again. So I beg to differ that the US is a hotbed of tolerance, its just that the population that have been stepped on for decades are finally gaining some ground and raising their voices. But this is not a political forum so I think its best to leave it there.
And that was the first picture I thought of when I saw the Top 3
