MISS HONG KONG 2020 PAGEANT STOLE KOREAN, JAPANESE CULTURE

Japanese castle background?

Image

Since when my country Korea's national costume is HK's national costume?

Image

Image

Image

Look at those fucking Japanese Ninja costumes

Image

Michael Jackson?

Image

Since when "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" is the K-Pop song and dance?
K-Pop dance my ass! There's no such thing this clumsy ass K-Pop dance

Image
My Korean national costume Hanbok, Japanese Ninja costume, and that's not K-Pop dance at all

I believe Hong Kong has a rich history,
And I support Hong Kong's freedom.

But this is not right.

My national costume Hanbok is not Hong Kong's national costume,
That's not K-Pop dance,

And Ninja costume is not theirs too.

Most importantly,

WHERE's HONG KONG's NATIONAL COSTUME AND CULTURE?
WHAT's YOUR IDENTITY? HUH?

Miss Hong Kong 2020 pageant was ridiculous

Shame on Miss Hong Kong 2020 pageant director/producers.

If you want to say "Aren't Korean, Japanese, Hong Kong cultures are basically same?"
You are fucking ignorant, and shut the f**k up

There was also a Miss World edition held in China back then where the Opening main performer donned Korea’s national costume. I am not sure if there is a region in China which has the same costume as Korea though.

Oh c'mmon

Dont be too sensitive, every once in a while, cultures are copied.

Miss Hongkong for me did a very good job, one of the few visually fantastic one in a while.

Just enjoy it, afterall, Miss Hongkong did not disrespected any of your mentioned culture...its an entertainment show.

You are ignorant as f**k

Since Chinese government ruled the HK,
This shit happened.

If you watch some Chinese TV drama,
Some Servant characters wearing Hanbok, which isn’t their national costume.

They always claim Korean peninsula is their own.
Which means totally fucking wrong.

So if someone say “Oh you are Mexican?”, just because you are from Spain,
Do you think it’s okay? Probably you will correct their ignorant opinion

Again, HK has a rich culture, they don’t need Korea and Japan’s background, costume and dance.
Obviously they purposely did it

And it’s damn NATIONAL PAGEANT. They should have show HK’s own culture, instead of Korea and Japan’s culture

If you want to say “You need to get over it”
No, I fucking can’t!
Hanbok is my culture!

They don’t have Korean ‘Hanbok’ costume.
They consider Hanbok is theirs and it’s survants and dancers costume, no it’s not.

Chinese government think Korean peninsula is theirs just like HK,
Which means totally wrong.
Since Chinese government ruled HK, so this shit happened to Miss Hong Kong pageant since then.

And I was furious when MWO let them wearing Hanbok and pretend it’s Chinese costume
Culturally ignorant person doesn’t deserve to own one of a BIG F_O_U_R PAGEANT

Cross cultural influences, porous physical/geographical boundaries, international travel and cross cultural assimilation, the age of the internet and knowledge implosion. These concepts are acclaimed globally, I should like to say, and are no longer exclusive to one country, nationality or, race? Correct me if I'm wrong. There must be a reason why Ms Hong Kong packaged their pageant as such. Did the organizers claim it was solely or rightfully theirs, or merely "borrowed" such theme for a specific reason? I also think that the answers you seek may not be propounded well in these pages. Did you ask or source further information from those involved in the event or from people in the know who might possess unabridged information? You could be barking at the wrong tree, for all you know!

Damn you don’t know anything about East Asian countries relationships and history.
East Asian countries may look similar to your COLONIST country but wrong!

China doing same shit just like your country.
China ate the whole HK up and they want my country too.

Image
Look at these costume shits. It's Chinese TV series.
Servants wearing Hanbok, Nobles and Royal family wearing Chinese costume.
They clearly don’t wear Hanbok, and they purposely Servants to wear Hanbok.
They think Korea is under their country.
You know why? China thinks Korean histories are theirs.

In the international pageant, some contestants can add other countries’ flags on their national costume
It’s motherfuckin national pageant.
Not international pageant at all.
So it’s a totally different situation.

China’s stealing everything.
They copy other countries cultures and pretend it was originally theirs.

Barking? You are barking to this thread, not me.
I don’t buy colonist country’s people’s opinion.

Multicultural? 2020?
East Asian countries can’t be merged unlike your ignorance
Study East Asian countries history first and bark again!

K-Pop is already spreading all over the world thanks to Psy and BTS? Although K-Pop fever already started in Asia in the late 2000s era or mid-2000s era in the Philippines thanks to Sandara "Dara" Park.

Grow up! Stop being a drama queen. You're not cut for that. An excess of ultra reactionary nationalist entitlement doesn't stop other people in having an opinion outside your own. Stop fomenting hatred. It doesn't help. When you're pushed against the walls, take a deep breadth, pause a while and don't peddle your thoughts for others to follow suit with nary a thought. Don't call people names ecause they have individual belief and values! Don't pretend or assume to have unbridled, unblemished, unimpaired knowledge of history and its accompanying incidental distortions!

I don't get it why you are vehemently defensive! Your mouth is salivating with foul words, its frothing undeserved venom. If you are faultless of your rights, elevate the case to court for international arbitration. Better still, build your case then engage the organizers in a legal tussle, not us forumers who can neither adhere your noise or lend none else but their artificial ears. Did I want to engage you in a fight by way of unwarranted insults? BTW, when did beauty pageants become priority as a national prerogative? Aren't pageants private initiatives owned in part or in whole and run by private citizens? So, if you can, don't bring overt nationalist sentiments in these pages, what was your word for that, "colonist?" in the arguments. No absolute need for bigotry here. It's loudly ill-fit and makes your personal crusade so trying hard but nil, zilch!

Answer the question: Have you reached out personally to the organizers and asked the harder question? I'd bet you haven't done yet or did not bother at all, so please don't play hero here. Continue acting like a 5-year toddler and come out stupid if you want!

Calm down. I think this year’s theme was “around the world”. There is no reason to feel insulted when you see other cultures on Miss Hong Kong stage.

The production of Miss Hong Kong has akways been top notch. It’s even better than pageant enthusiastic countries. This year’s winner is stunning and very Miss World-ish. Too bad, TVB priortizes the girls’ acting careers over international pageants. They have stopped sending the winner to Miss Universe since 2001. And, currently they send the winner to Miss Chinese International and the first runner up to Miss World.

I have not seen the entire show but looks like the Miss HK pageant was giving tribute to the non-Chinese East Asian countries that have contributed a lot to their economy.

Miss France last year had their girls wear Japanese, Russian, British, Spanish costumes... no biggies.
