Will Thailand pull the same 2013 results of the Philippines?

Postby ajsy0203 » Sat Dec 14, 2019 7:19 am

Rewind to 2013, where Philippines dominated in every Big 5 pageants:
Miss Earth = Made the Cut (Top 8 )
Miss International = Winner
Miss Supranational = Winner
Miss Universe = Top 5 (3rd Runner Up)
Miss World = Winner

Now 6 years later, Thailand is on the verge of duplicating Philippines' 2013 finish at the Big 5 pageants:
Miss Earth = Made the Cut (Top 20)
Miss International = Winner
Miss Supranational = Winner
Miss Universe = Top 5 (eliminated during the Final 3 announcement)
Miss World = ?

Megan Young vs Narintorn Chadapattarawalrachoat's performance in the fast track events prior to the finals:
Megan Young: (which she eventually won Miss World 2013)
Winner at Top Model
Top 5 at Beach Fashion
Top 5 at Multimedia
Participant at Sports
Participant at Talent
Participant at BWAP
4th at the preliminary interview and 1st overall in the preliminary competition

Narintorn Chadapattarawalrachoat: (currently competing at Miss World 2019)
Participant at Top Model
Participant at Multimedia
Participant at Sports
Participant at Talent
Participant at BWAP
Lost to India at the 1st Round of Head to Head Challenge

So far Narintorn unable to sustain the stunning performance of Megan, but just what happened at Miss World 2016 where Stephanie Del Valle won the pageant despite she performed poorly at the fast track events.

Let's see if this will happen tonight?

Unfortunately Thailand ended the journey for the blue crown with a Top 40 finish but this country will be officially named Performer of the Year in the Big 5 Rankings this season.

Philippines' 6 years streak at the Big Four or Big Five International pageants officially ended in 2019. 9 crowns so far won in this past decade - 2010 to 2019. A rare feat for a country. Winning 2 major crowns in 2015 (Miss Universe & Miss Earth) and 3 major crowns in 2013 (Miss World,
Miss International & Miss Supranational).

Philippines won it's 3rd Miss Universe crown in 2015 and it's 4th Miss Universe crown in 2018. 2 crowns in a decade along with South Africa is truly remarkable.

After 63 years in drought, the Philippines won its first Miss World crown in 2013. Elevated to the Elite Countries Title with Venezuela and Brazil for sweeping all four major international pageants in history. Recently, Puerto Rico joined their ranks in 2019.

The Philippines won it's back to back crown in 2014 and 2015 in Miss Earth and also won it's 4th crown in 2017. 3 crowns in a decade is unimaginable.

Miss International has been good to the Philippines for winning it's 5th Miss International crown in 2013 and it's 6th Miss International crown in 2016. 2 crowns in a decade is unthinkable.

Lastly, the Philippines won it's first Miss Supranational crown in its 5th edition and the first Asian winner.

Looking forward for another decade of excitement for Team Philippines. :=p :=p :=p

We have our fair share of crowns. And it's not always Christmas.

I am just happy that another ASIAN (SOUTH-EAST ASIAN COUNTRY, to be exact) country is doing great in pageantry. So I am equally happy for what Thailand has been geeting this year. If 2013 is the start of Philippine's dominance in pageantry, I wish 2019 is the start for Thailand.
