Political Correctness

Postby Glutathione » Mon Dec 09, 2019 9:52 am

Non-US based people don't realize that political correctness is a thing esp for the black people to prevent issue of discrimination. You could send someone who can speak better than Catriona and still won't make it if they have to give way or chance to a black woman. In my opinion, politics has a lot to do with it. There are some beautiful and intelligent black women but the crowned Miss Universe in my opinion is far from the best of this batch. Gazini advancing to top 10 is risky since she is a stand out in many aspects if the intention is to crown a black woman this time...then it would be obvious so I think she got eliminated for a reason so as not to be able to show further what she can do as she would definitely stand out.

Don't flatter Gazini too much. Her advancing into top 10 is only possible if 6 of the top 10 made a fool of themselves in the opening speech segment...

She looked terrified speaking for God's sake! If she had made the Q&A round with those questions, her nose will bleed profusely...

True! Some pinoys are so full of themselves! We are not always the best in everything! Deal with it! Gazini failed to impress big time!

I agree contextually but I’ll be less harsh. Miss Universe is a beauty pageant, and we can all agree that Gaz wins here. But the qualification to win doesnt stop there. Gazini’s performance at the opening speech fell short vs girls who are really strong in communications. Every single one of the Top 10 was better than her.

She had a relevant cause that would have resonated but the delivery didnt make an impact.

Lu prior to finals said that Miss Universe wasnt looking for another model but a Spokesperson. The moment Gaz finished her statement, it was pretty obvious She wouldnt make the cut. The stars i
Didnt align for her. And That’s the best there is for us this year. Move forward to the next.

We cant win all the time. And South Africa is a fantastic winner.

The Speech segment at the start is a new twist...I think they could manipulate the set up depending on who they wish to shine. It is obviously Gazini's waterloo and it was placed already before she could show her walk. The fact that Lu has to say that already suggests who they plan to win. It can change next year or the year after depending on which country or color they wish to shine and that is also obvious by the line up of selection of judges.
