Becoming a candidate: Right or Privilege?

Postby ajsy0203 » Tue Dec 03, 2019 10:16 pm

From transgender Angela Ponce to single mom Veronika Didusenko to controversial contestants like Sonia Beytoushi, Sudawan Kumdee & Samantha Lo. Do you think becoming a candidate for any of the international pageant (not necessarily winning) is a Right or is a Privilege?

Angela Ponce - first transgender to compete at Miss Universe (and second overall in Big 5 pageants if Gay Mei Lin of Miss World Hong Kong is confirmed a transgender)
Veronika Didusenko - dethroned Miss Ukraine because she is a single mom with a child
Sonia Beytoushi - "appointed" "Miss Universe Iran" but rejected by MUO because there was no license given to Iran
Sudawan Kumdee - former Miss Gwand Thailand contestant was appointed as Miss Gwand Ireland as replacement of original candidate Hollie Hersey, Sudawan lived in Ireland for few years so she was qualified to represent Ireland
Samantha Lo - former Bb. Pilipinas Grand International who went to Venezuela without the BPCI consent at the height of questionable passport issue

Of course it's a privilege, they won national competition duh!

If it's a right, then everyone can join Miss Universe... Say, all Binibini 2019 can compete, not only Gazini.

What a question....

In other words... It's a privilege of national winners to represent their respective countries in an international platform. Thus not everyone has the right to compete internationally. Eh kung right yan, puno ang stage.

Auditioning/screening is a right but representing your country is a privilege.... :-* :-* :-*
